The education funding debate is heating up and I can't help wondering why it took this long. After all, it was some time ago that we gave public funding to the catholics. I thought at the time there would be an immediate stampede. Anyways, the United Nations declared some years ago that it is discriminatory to fund the catholic system and deny all others. I agree with that assessment. My two cents; take it away from the catholic system and stop the bleeding!!

I don't want my tax money funding anyone's religion...period. I kinda wish there was a stampede for funds way back then. We would not be where we are today on this issue. Unfortunately there is a lot of political clout behind catholic funding and I fear we may lose the public system altogether when our only option is to handout money to the Muslims, Jews, Christian Reformed, Buddhists, Taoists and even home schoolers.

Funny thing is I was a home schooler valedictorian ;D No I agree school funding should be just for the public schools, not for Catholics, Muslims, Jews, or Harry Chrishna's.
